Suction Pressure High - Misplaced Guages

Problem Description:  The suction pressure and head pressure are reading the same.

Observed Symptoms:  

• Compressor and condenser fan operating.
• Suction line is hot.
• Supply air temperature is normal.

Solution:  Suction guage connected to the suction line instead of true suction.

Additional Information: 

• In the heating mode, both lines are high pressure.
• All heat pumps should have a "true suction" port that connects to the suction line between the compressor and reversing valve.
