Re: Blowing Hot Air - Cooling

Qty Possible Causes:
No 24V on "O"
Bad Reversing Valve
1 Loose Wire on Reversing Valve
Heater Stuck On

CHECKOUT:

1. Check Refrigerant Pressures

  • With the outdoor unit operating, hook refrigerant gauges to the system.
    • Blue ⇒ Suction Line (not true suction)
    • Red ⇒ Liquid Line
      • Both Pressures High = Unit in Heat Mode → Step 2. Check Low Voltage
      • Correct Pressures ⇒ Check thermostat setting and configuration.

2. Check Low Voltage

  • Check for 24VAC between "O" and "C" on the defrost board thermostat connections.

3. Test Reversing Valve

  • Check for 24VAC across the two RV outputs on the defrost board.
    • Power on "O" + No Power on "RV" = Bad Defrost Board or No "Common" ⇒ Check for 24VAC between "R" and "C".

4. Test Reversing Valve

  • Check for 24VAC across the two RV outputs on the defrost board.
    • Power on "O" + No Power on "RV" = Bad Defrost Board or No "Common" ⇒ Check for 24VAC between "R" and "C".
