The fault and status codes for the YHM heat pump are displayed on the small control board mounted beneath the large inverter board.

Fault Code 47 = Fan Inverter IPM Fault

Qty POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION
1. Sudden Supply Voltage Change

Check supply voltage to the outdoor unit. (If low or high, contact utility provider.) (Inverter is not designed for use with a generator.) (Brownout condition.) (Check for a cut or damaged wire short to ground.)

2. Sudden load change on the fan motor.

Troubleshoot outdoor fan motor & blade. (Ensure they are in good working order.) Check fan harness and connectors.

3. Inverter internal damage.

Change out the inverter drive. (Validate the fix. If the issue persists, reinstall the original inverter drive, and go to step 4.)

4. Fan motor internal damage.

Replace outdoor fan motor. (Validate the fix. If the issue persists, reinstall the original fan motor, and go to the last step.)

Last Step. If fault remains.
