The thermostat is calling for heat but the unit is producing cold air because the reversing valve is energized.

Qty Possible Causes
Bad or Mis-Configured Thermostat
Mis-Wired Thermostat
Shorted Control Wire
1 "HP" Jumper on CFM Board

CHECKOUT:

1. Check Operation

  • Make sure the thermostat is set correctly and calling for Heat.

2. Check Thermostat/Wiring

  • Remove the Orange control wire from the terminal board.
  • Check for 24VAC between the Orange control wire and "C".
    • Power Present ⇒ Remove the Orange wire from the thermostat subbase, then re-check for power on the Orange wire at the O/D unit.
      • No Power = Bad or Mis-Configured Thermostat
      • Power Still Present = Shorted Control Wiring
    • No Power ⇒ Check for 24VAC between the now empty "O" terminal and "C".
      • Power Present ⇒ Check HP jumper plug on the CFM board (Should be removed).
