ADPS Adjustable Pressure Switch

The Series ADPS Adjustabe Pressure Switch is designed for pressure, vacuum, and differential pressures. The dual scaled knob in inches water column and pascals allows changes to the switching pressure to be made without a pressure gauge.

Pressure Ports

The ADPS switch has twp pressure port connections.

The front port is low (negative) pressure and the rear port is high (positive) pressure.

Single-Hose: On a typical single-port furnace application with a pressure tube attached to the inducer motor, you would connect to the front, low-pressure port.

Dual-Hose: On a two hose application with one hose from the inducer motor and another from the burner box, the inducer motor hose would attach to the front, low-pressure port and the burner box hose would attach to the back, hi-pressure port.

IMPORTANT: The switch comes with plastic port covers. Both covers MUST be removed for the switch to function.

IMPORTANT: When using the ADPS switch as a replacement for a factory furnace switch, it is important to mark the original pressure switch rating on the furnace or on the ADPS switch for future reference.

Electrical Contacts

The ADPS switch has a SPDT contact (Common, Normally-Open and Normally-Closed).

  • Terminal 3 - Common
  • Terminal 2 - Normally-Open
  • Terminal 1 - Normally-Closed

On a typical 2-wire pressure switch that close when the inducer motor starts, you would hook to terminals 2 & 3.

ISSUES:

When using too low of a pressure setting, it is common for the ADPS switch to fail to re-open, causing a "Pressure Switch Stuck Closed" fault.
