  • Units manufactured 2014 - 2015 with Copeland scroll compressors are experiencing a high expansion valve failure rate. The cause of the failure has been traced to an additive in the Copeland compressors. This additive has been causing expansion valves to become very sluggish and fail to open.
  • All manufacturers who use Copeland scroll compressors are experiencing this problem.
  • The resolution to this problem has been to add "AC-Renew" to the system. AC Renew may have to circulate through the system for up to 4 days before completely clearing the system.
