The YCJD air conditioner uses a micro-channel outdoor coil.  In many cases, this smaller coil area causes the compressor to have difficulty starting.

In some cases, the compressor may appear to be locked-up.

What to do:

1. Add a large "Hard-Start" - There is sticker in the control panel that says "Start Relay Here".
   • Why they don't put one in from the factory - I don't know.
2. Beware of system overcharge - Too much refrigerant makes this problem much worse.
3. Make sure the thermostat is set for a 5 minute Compressor Off Delay.
