CHECKOUT:

1. Check Unit Operation

  • Reset the unit by turning off power to the outdoor unit for at least 2 minutes.
  • Turn power back on.
  • Put the unit in Cooling mode and turn the set point to its lowest setting.
    • The unit only has one refrigerant port on the external suction line (which is high pressure in the heating mode).
    • An adapter is required for standard refrigerant hoses.

2. Check Refrigerant Pressures

  • Hook-up refrigerant gauges to the pressure port on the unit.
  • Monitor pressures as the system operates.
Normal Pressure Range
Refig 40-55 Deg O/D 55-80 Deg O/D
R410A
  • 75-100 Suction
  • 200-250 Head
  • 100-150 Suction

3. Weigh-In the Charge

  • Unfortunately, there is no accepted method of re-charging a mini-split other that to recover all of the refrigerant and weigh-in the correct amount.
