Honeywell Thermostat: TH8320R & TH8321R VisionPro

Re: CONFIGURE THE THERMOSTAT TO DEHUMIDIFY

Both the TH8320R and TH8321R thermostat can be configured to dehumidify, however, if you are using a TH8320R you will be required to add additional REDLink accessories.

There are two ways that the thermostat can dehumidify:

  1. OVERCOOLING - The thermostat can be set to overcool up to 3 deg in an effort to satisfy the Dehumidify setting.
  2. DEHUMIDIFY OUTPUT - The thermostat can send a signal to a variable speed air handler to tell it to lower its fan speed during a cooling cycle.  The lower fan speed will cause a colder coil and longer run-cycles, both of which increase dehumidification.

Enter "Installer Setup" to Configure Dehumidification:

  • From the thermostat Home Screen press the MENU tab.
  • Scroll down to highlight the last menu item, "Installer Options".
  • Enter the Factory Password and press "Done".
  • Highlight the first option, "Installer Setup" and press Select.
  • Press "Next" until the Setup# 900 - "DEHUM EQUIPMENT" is shown.
  • Use the Up and Down arrows to select one of the following options then press "Next":
    • None - No dehumidification.
    • A/C with low fan - A V/S air handler with an "HUM" input.
    • A/C with high fan - A standard air handler (overcools).
      • For "A/C with low fan" leave setup# 904 & 905 unchanged.
  • Press "Next" to get to Setup# 907 - "DEHUM OVER COOLING LIMIT".
  • Use the Up and Down arrows to select a number from 0 - 3 deg.
  • Press "Done" and answer "Yes" to the question, "Do you want to exit Installer Setup?".
  • Answer "Yes" to the question, "Do you want to save changes?".
  • Press the "HOME" tab to go back to the Home Screen.
