Rheem Gas Furnace: R801
Re: Diagnostic & Fault Codes
The furnace control comes standard with a 7-segment diagnostic display.
During Standby mode (with no faults), the display will read "0".
During normal Heating, Cooling or Continuous Fan operation, a letter will be displayed to describe the mode of operation:
Code | Description |
0 | Standby - No Faults |
C | Compressor On - Cooling or Heat Pup |
H | Gas Heat On |
F | Continuous Fan On |
10 | 1 Hour Lockout |
11 | Failed Ignition |
12 | Low Flame Signal |
13 | Flame Lost |
14 | Unexpected Flame |
20 | Twinning Error |
22 | Main Limit or HALC tripped |
26 | Reversed Polarity |
33 | Roll-Out Open |
55 | Pressure Switch Closed When it Should be Open |
57 | Pressure Switch Open When it Should be Closed |
61 | Blower Fault |
93 | Internal Control Fault |
All lockout conditions can be cleared immediately provided that the original fault causing the lockout is cleared and power to the unit is cycled off and then back on again or (soft lockout only) if a heat call is cycled off for greater than 2 seconds but less than 20 seconds.
5-Minute Lockout
A five minute “soft” lockout will be initiated if the pressure switch fails to close after 60 seconds of continuous inducer operation at the beginning of a normal heat cycle (pressure switch proving period). The seven-segment display will display the appropriate fault. Lockout will automatically be reset after five minutes.
1-Hour Lockout
A one hour “soft” lock out will be initiated when:
The seven-segment display will alternately display “10” and the code number for the fault causing the lockout. Lockout will automatically be reset after one hour.
Hard Lockout
Three conditions shall cause a hard lockout:
